· Technology · TechCrunch
French AI lab Mistral AI has secured €3 billion in a Series D funding round, reaching a post-money valuation exceeding €21 billion. The investment was led by Samsung Electronics, with participation from the EQT-managed Scaleup Europe Fund and PSG Equity. Mistral plans to use the capital to scale its compute capacity, expand its international presence, and develop infrastructure. The company currently operates in 20 countries and aims to provide AI services that allow corporations and governments to maintain control over their data and model usage. French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the investment reflects a shared goal between France and South Korea to build an alternative path in the global AI landscape.
