Mohit Sharma Set to Join CSK as Bowling Coach

Former India bowler Mohit Sharma is set to join the Chennai Super Kings support staff as their new bowling coach for the upcoming IPL season. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed the appointment, noting that Sharma was recommended by head coach Zaheer Khan. Sharma replaces Eric Simmons in the role after retiring from professional cricket in December last year. The 38-year-old pacer played 120 IPL matches and claimed 134 wickets, including a Purple Cap-winning 2014 season with CSK. He previously spent two successful seasons with the Gujarat Titans before calling time on his playing career.
Why it matters
The appointment brings an experienced former player back into the CSK setup to mentor the bowling attack under head coach Zaheer Khan.
