Month-Long Swachhata Hi Seva-2026 Campaign Begins in Visakhapatnam

The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation has launched the month-long Swachhata Hi Seva-2026 campaign in Visakhapatnam. GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg stated that the initiative began at G.R. Nagar Colony in the GVMC East Zone with special cleanliness drives and public awareness programmes. The campaign is structured around five key pillars, including public area cleanliness, student participation under Swachh Pathshala, and sanitation worker welfare through SafaiMitra Suraksha Evam Samman Shivir. Activities will feature door-to-door awareness, waste segregation, home composting, and a mass shramdaan scheduled for October 1 under the slogan Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath. The campaign will conclude on October 2 with the observation of Swachh Bharat Diwas on Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti.
