More than half of senior leaders find it harder to evaluate employee work after adopting AI, survey finds

· Technology · TechCrunch

A Monday.com survey of 1,700 senior leaders across seven countries found over half now find it harder to evaluate employee work after adopting AI. Nearly half of managers say they spend more time reviewing and guiding team output than before, as much of employees' output arrives polished in their inbox, obscuring how much came from the employee versus AI. 78% of respondents said they have changed how they evaluate employees after adopting AI, placing greater weight on staff ability to create prompts and delegate tasks to AI. 46% of managers use AI to help inform their decisions, and 39% of leaders are using AI to draft performance reviews, raising concerns about bias given LLMs' tendency to repeat human patterns in training data.

Why it matters

Managers face increased workload reviewing AI-polished output while struggling to fairly assess employee contributions, and performance reviews risk introducing new bias as AI adoption outpaces organizational processes and clear evaluation standards.
