Morocco PM Rebukes Football Chief Over World Cup Final Claims
· Sports · Al Jazeera, BBC Sport
Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch has publicly criticised Royal Moroccan Football Federation President Fouzi Lekjaa for claiming the 2030 World Cup final will be held in Casablanca. The Prime Minister urged officials to respect Morocco's co-hosting partners, Spain and Portugal, and warned against using the tournament for electoral promises. Construction of the proposed 115,000-seat stadium in Morocco is currently 30 percent complete, with a target completion date of late 2027.
