An employee at Germany's Frankfurt Airport has died from malaria after a rare outbreak infected six workers. Health authorities suspect a mosquito was transported to the airport via an aircraft arriving from a malaria-endemic region in July. The Robert Koch Institute confirmed that four of the workers fell ill between July 4 and 6. Fraport, the airport operator, has since installed mosquito traps to identify the species and origin of the insects. The Frankfurt Health Department stated that human-to-human transmission is not a factor in this case.
