Moulana Bi, a woman from Prakasam district, has died at a hospital in Hyderabad after consuming poison during a protest. She had been staging a relay hunger strike in front of a private school in Ongole, demanding a probe into the death of her son, Kowshik, who died by hanging in February 2026. The parents had raised suspicions regarding the school management's role and the subsequent police investigation. Ongole DSP R. Srinivasa Rao confirmed the case is currently pending before the Andhra Pradesh High Court, with investigations involving forensic analysis of police officers' mobile phones.
