Motorcycle skids, hit by Thar in Delhi Cantonment, 2 killed

Two NDMC employees aged around 45-50 were killed near the Indian Oil Corporation red light in Delhi Cantonment on Wednesday evening around 5pm when the motorcycle they were riding skidded and was struck by a Mahindra Thar from behind. The victims, a man and a woman, were returning home to Sector 1, Dwarka after finishing their duty at NDMC's Lodhi Road office. A Delhi Cantt police station staff member witnessed the accident and alerted the station; both victims were declared dead on arrival at the hospital. Police have arrested the Thar driver, identified as 26-year-old Bhupendra from Jhajjar, Haryana, who owns a milk booth in Rohini. A case has been registered under sections 281 and 106(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Delhi Cantt police station, and the bodies have been sent for postmortem. The victims are yet to be identified by police, and the precise circumstances are still being investigated.
