A 28-year-old Maharashtra Public Service Commission aspirant, Prathamesh Deshmukh, was found dead inside his rented room in Pune on Wednesday. Police stated that the youth, who hailed from Paranda and was preparing for civil services exams, had a debt of around ₹2.5 lakh. The incident sparked intense political outrage, with the Congress party holding the government responsible and demanding the resignation of the MPSC chairperson and secretary. Students have been staging massive protests in cities like Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar over examination irregularities, paper leaks, and recruitment delays. Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke is scheduled to visit the deceased aspirant's family in Dharashiv on Thursday.
