Muhammad Yunus, head of Bangladesh's former interim government, faced angry heckling from Bangladeshi expatriates upon his arrival at New York's John F Kennedy International Airport. Protesters confronted the Nobel laureate at Terminal 8 after he arrived on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha, shouting accusations and calling him a terrorist. The confrontation reflects ongoing political tensions and anger among expatriate groups following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina regime. Security personnel quickly escorted Mr Yunus and his aide Lamia Morshed away from the scene back inside the terminal. Neither Mr Yunus nor his representatives issued an immediate statement regarding the incident.
