Mumbai Police Deploys 23,000 Personnel, AI Cameras, Drones for Ganpati Visarjan

Mumbai Police has deployed over 23,000 personnel, including 3,213 officers, 18,940 personnel and 1,050 trainees, to secure Anant Chaturdashi Ganpati visarjan on September 25. The force is supported by 10,000 CCTV cameras, including AI-enabled facial-recognition systems at major immersion points like Girgaon, Juhu, Bandra, Versova, Powai and Madh-Marve. Drones will monitor crowd density, with additional forces mobilised to overcrowded locations as needed. Specialised units such as the Rapid Action Force, State Reserve Police Force, Force One, Quick Response Teams, riot-control teams, Delta and Combat teams, and the Anti-Drone Squad have been deployed at sensitive locations. Home Guards will assist police, while temporary and regional control rooms oversee operations.
