Musubi has released PolicyLM-1.7B, a lightweight decision model designed for real-time content moderation on social platforms. The open-weights model applies plain English content policies to messages in under 50 milliseconds. Unlike traditional AI classifiers, the model offers the flexibility of a modern LLM and can handle complex policies without special retraining when rules change. Decision models output outcome probabilities or binary judgments rather than text, allowing them to run faster and cheaper than standard large language models. The technology mirrors similar decision models recently introduced by Typesafe AI, OpenAI, and Amazon.
