Mutual Fund SIP Assets Triple to ₹14.83 Lakh Crore

Systematic investment plan (SIP) assets under management have more than tripled over the past five years, reaching ₹14.83 lakh crore as of March 2026. The number of unique mutual fund investors in India grew from 2.3 crore in 2021 to 6.14 crore in 2026. Equity funds remain the primary choice for investors, maintaining an 87% share of total SIP assets. According to an AMFI-Crisil Intelligence report, SIPs now represent 20.1% of the total mutual fund industry's assets, compared to 13.5% five years ago.
