Alleged Myanmar-based extremists killed four Nagas in Manipur's Kamjong district on September 24, 2026. The Working Committee of the Tangkhul Naga Long blamed the Kuki National Army-Burma and Kuki elements backed by Myanmar's People's Defence Force for the attack at Pilong village. Two residents were shot dead near the village, while two others were taken to Phailen and killed. The deceased include Betterson Jajo, Vareishim Jajo, Phami Jajo, and Ningthem Kashak. One survivor, Akhan Kaping, escaped and was rescued by Tangkhul civil society groups. This marks the third such cross-border attack on Naga villagers in Kamjong district.
