Nagpur Tourists Return From Nepal Floods After Maharashtra CM Intervention

Four members of a 118-person tourist group from Nagpur who were stranded in Nepal due to devastating flash floods returned home on Saturday. The travellers had arrived in Nepal on August 19 for a Shiv Puran recitation led by Shridharacharya Maharaj and got stranded after severe weather damaged bridges and disrupted transport. The tourists took shelter at Maheshwari Sadan in Kathmandu before receiving assistance from a local Nepali MP named Rana, who connected them with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The Chief Minister subsequently facilitated the return of more than 106 stranded passengers. Four members of the Nagpur delegation flew from Kathmandu to Delhi on Friday afternoon before boarding the Kerala Express to Nagpur.
