Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called for collective cooperation among southern states to build a $10-trillion economy by 2047 during the 31st Southern Zonal Council meeting in Mahabalipuram near Chennai. Chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the meeting addressed 24 agenda items, with leaders discussing regional infrastructure and economic integration. Mr. Naidu proposed a bullet train corridor linking Amaravati, Bengaluru, and Chennai via Kuppam, alongside a common logistics network, dry ports, and stronger power grid integration. He also suggested establishing a joint skill development ecosystem, a dedicated disaster disaster management task force, and a heritage tourism circuit connecting southern pilgrimage sites to Varanasi and Ayodhya. The gathering brought together key regional leadership, including Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, and Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan.
