· Entertainment · Hindustan Times, Zee News
For Rajashree Asaram Pardeshi from Arvi village in Maharashtra's Beed district, a sewing machine provided by actor Nana Patekar's Naam Foundation helped her family rebuild life after a debilitating accident left her husband bed-ridden. Pardeshi earns around ₹10,000 a month by hemming sarees and stitching blouses, giving her financial independence. Patekar passed away at his Goa residence at the age of 76 on Thursday. Over the last decade, Patekar and actor Makarand Anaspure supported families in drought-prone Marathwada through the Naam Foundation, aiding rural women affected by agrarian distress and farmer suicides since 2015.
