Nani's The Paradise Trims 24 Minutes and Cuts Fight Scene for OTT

· Entertainment · Indian Express, Pinkvilla

Nani's Telugu film The Paradise arrived on Netflix with a runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes, making it roughly 24 minutes shorter than its theatrical version. The OTT cut removes the entire mother's dance portion from the Dhumavathi fight sequence, which had drawn widespread mockery and memes online during its theatrical run. Directed by Srikanth Odela and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under SLV Cinemas, the film also features toned-down violence in the second half to address audience complaints about pacing. Additionally, the Netflix release includes reworked visual effects and slower-moving end credits.

Why it matters

Changes made to the OTT version of a major theatrical release reflect how filmmakers and studios respond to audience criticism and social media backlash after a film's box office run.
