A national-level wrestler and two of her children died after jumping into a 100-foot gorge from the historic Naldurg Fort in Maharashtra's Dharashiv district. The athlete, identified as Ashwini Manohar Paul, and her five-and-a-half-year-old son died on the spot, while one of her twin daughters succumbed to injuries during treatment. Her other daughter remains critically injured on ventilator support at the Government Hospital in Dharashiv. Known in wrestling circles as "Maharashtra's Tigress," Paul won five gold and six silver medals at the national level during her career. Her father has alleged continuous mental and physical harassment by her husband and in-laws, prompting police to register a case at Naldurg Police Station.
