The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports announced the National Sports Awards 2025 on Tuesday, featuring 17 Arjuna Award recipients and one lifetime honour. The selection committee, chaired by former Supreme Court judge Justice Arun Kumar Mishra, chose not to award the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna, marking a notable departure from previous years. Former footballer I Arumainayagam was awarded the Arjuna Award for Lifetime contribution after being part of India's gold-medal-winning 1962 Asian Games squad.
