NCB Identifies Two Heroin Supply Routes Into Jammu

The Narcotics Control Bureau identified two distinct trafficking routes pushing heroin into Jammu from Punjab and across the Line of Control in Kashmir. In a September 3 operation, officials seized 522 grams of heroin from a bus coming from Punjab, leading to a follow-up recovery in Ludhiana and the arrest of Aqib Bashir from Pulwama. This followed an August 22 seizure of 5.160 kg of heroin in Jammu city's Panjtirthi area that originated from Pakistan and entered through the Uri sector. The NCB conducted additional raids in drug-affected bastis across the Jammu and Samba belt, recovering further quantities of narcotics.

The multi-state drug busts expose active trafficking networks operating across international borders and state corridors into Jammu and Kashmir.
