· India · Times of India, Telegraph India
The NEET-PG 2026 examination was held across 1,111 centres in 339 cities on Sunday, with over 2.63 lakh candidates appearing for the test. A re-examination has been announced for 2,445 candidates at two iON Digital Zone iDZ Sitapura centres in Jaipur after an internal power supply failure disrupted the process. Dr Abhijat Sheth, president of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, confirmed the retest will take place on September 5 at 3 pm. The Ministry of Health has formed a three-member committee, including representatives from the Rajasthan government and the Central Electricity Authority, to investigate the cause of the power failure. Officials reported that the nationwide exam proceeded without any incidents of paper leaks or hacking.
Why it matters
The re-examination ensures that the 2,445 affected medical aspirants in Jaipur have a fair opportunity to complete their test, preventing potential career setbacks due to local infrastructure failures.
