Neha Bora Moves Delhi High Court Over Peace Bond Notice
· India · Indian Express, The Hindu, India Today
Neha Bora, president of the All India Students Association, moved the Delhi High Court on Monday to challenge a police notice issued by the Special Executive Magistrate. The notice directed her to show cause why she should not execute a bond of Rs 10,000 with a surety to maintain peace during an ongoing police inquiry. Her legal plea argues that the direction is a colourable exercise of preventive powers designed to suppress peaceful dissent using vague material. The court is currently on vacation until October 26 and did not schedule a vacation bench to hear the matter immediately.
