Nepal’s Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle is scheduled to arrive in New Delhi on September 17-18 for his first bilateral visit since the devastating August 26 flash floods. During his two-day trip, he will meet with Indian counterpart Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and other senior government officials to discuss economic cooperation and post-disaster recovery. The visit follows India's delivery of 95 tonnes of humanitarian aid and the deployment of rescue specialists to the Himalayan nation. Diplomatic observers also view the trip as an effort by Kathmandu to mend ties following previous diplomatic friction involving Prime Minister Balendra Shah.
