Nepal Floods Leave 1,252 Dead and Thousands Missing

Severe flash floods in Nepal have resulted in at least 1,252 confirmed deaths and 4,216 people reported missing. Rescue operations have successfully reached 11,993 individuals, while 5,135 people are currently receiving medical treatment for injuries. Among the missing are 900 individuals linked to various hydroelectric projects, along with 583 foreign nationals and 164 accompanying Nepali citizens. The scale of the devastation is evidenced by abandoned personal items, such as the school bag and textbooks of a student named Roshan Mijar. Official data indicates that Chitwan district recorded the highest death toll at 355, followed by Nawalparasi East and West.
