Incessant monsoon rainfall across Nepal from September 24 to 28 has killed at least 27 people, according to the Nepal Home Ministry. The disaster incidents affected 1,082 families while 114 livestock were killed. Officials recorded 304 landslide incidents resulting in 20 deaths, alongside 87 flood events that killed four people. Heavy rainfall also destroyed 227 houses, partially damaged 142 others, and impacted 31 bridges. The severe weather was driven by a low-pressure system originating in the Bay of Bengal.
