The Nevada Transportation Authority has granted Tesla permission to operate only ten autonomous vehicles in Las Vegas, significantly lower than the 5,000 requested. The permit restricts these robotaxis to a specific corridor along the Strip and prohibits speeds exceeding 45 mph. Additionally, the vehicles are barred from passenger pickups within one-quarter mile of Harry Reid International Airport without further government approval. Operations must involve human supervision, a requirement that differs from Tesla's driverless testing in Austin.
