Newborn Dies After Ambulance Stuck On Damaged Road In UP

A newborn girl died in Gadhwar village, Uttar Pradesh, after a government ambulance carrying her mother to the hospital got stuck on a damaged road for nearly two hours on September 2. Villagers were forced to tie the ambulance to a tractor to pull it out of the mud, according to a complaint filed by the family. By the time the woman reached the hospital, the newborn had stopped breathing. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vinod Kumar stated that the complaint was forwarded to the Public Works Department for a report following Tehsil Diwas on September 5. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the incident on X, attributing the tragedy to corruption.
