Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine. The sample was collected during the Mallorca Open on 22 June, and the suspension has been in effect since 4 August. The International Tennis Integrity Agency confirmed that Kyrgios has not appealed the decision. Under the terms of the suspension, the 31-year-old is prohibited from playing, coaching, or attending Grand Slams and events sanctioned by professional tennis tours. Kyrgios has publicly acknowledged the mistake and stated he takes full responsibility for his actions.
