· Business · LiveMint, Economic Times
The Nifty 50 closed higher on August 25, recording a 1.45% gain across the August series despite intraday volatility. The expiry session marked the first monthly expiry under the newly introduced Closing Auction Session regime. After dropping to an intraday low of 24,115.45, the index recovered with support from an upward-rising trendline and the Closing Auction Session to reclaim the 24,300 mark. Technical charts showed the formation of a bullish engulfing pattern, pushing the index above its 20, 50, and 100 EMAs. Immediate resistance is placed in the 24,370 to 24,400 zone, while immediate support rests between 24,197 and 24,208.
Why it matters
The successful implementation of the Closing Auction Session and the technical breakout provide key directional cues for Indian market investors entering the September series.
