Nifty 50 Net Profit Expected to Surge 23 Percent in Q2FY27
· Business · LiveMint
Nifty 50 companies are projected to post a nearly 23 percent year-on-year rise in net profit for the September quarter of fiscal year 2027, driven by metals, banks, and consumer-facing firms. Domestic brokerages note this would mark the strongest earnings growth for India's blue-chip companies in four quarters. Lower crude oil prices in July and August supported corporate margins before Brent crude surged to 109 dollars a barrel in September. Analysts warn that rising raw material costs and a delayed crude shock could squeeze profitability in the second half of the fiscal year, putting FY27 earnings estimates at risk.
Why it matters
Strong Q2 earnings boost market sentiment, but sustained cost pressures and volatile oil prices threaten corporate profit margins in upcoming quarters.
