Farage insisted that Northern Ireland remains an integral part of the United Kingdom and stated that its people do not seek a referendum or unification. Several other UK politicians, including Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch and Shadow Northern Ireland secretary Alex Burghart, also rejected Trump’s comments. The Democratic Unionist Party leader Gavin Robinson maintained that Northern Ireland’s status is based on the settled democratic will of its residents.
