Nirmala Sitharaman Leads Delegation to Qatar for AIIB Annual Meeting

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is leading an Indian delegation to Doha, Qatar, for the 11th annual meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank board of governors. India participates as the second-largest shareholder of the bank after China, followed by Russia. During the two-day event themed 'Tomorrow's Infrastructure: Impact and Innovation,' Sitharaman will hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Switzerland, Algeria, and Nepal, alongside AIIB President Zou Jiayi. Discussions will focus on climate finance, digital public infrastructure, and private capital in infrastructure. Headquartered in Beijing, the AIIB has approved 388 projects totaling $76.91 billion since its establishment in 2016.
