Nissan Redesigns Rogue Hybrid for 2027 Model Year With e-Power System
· Automobile · Car and Driver, InsideEVs
Nissan has redesigned the Rogue Hybrid for the 2027 model year, replacing the previous generation with an all-new compact SUV featuring fresh styling and an all-wheel-drive e-Power hybrid powertrain. The series hybrid setup combines a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with two electric motors to produce 225 horsepower, utilizing the gas engine primarily as a generator to recharge the battery while electric motors drive the wheels. Car and Driver reviewers noted the cabin is impressively quiet and refined with responsive acceleration, alongside a one-pedal driving mode that increases regenerative braking. The vehicle's cabin has also been revamped with upscale styling and modern technology features. The short-lived first-generation hybrid model, produced for only the 2026 model year, has been officially discontinued.
Why it matters
The introduction of Nissan's e-Power series hybrid system to the compact SUV segment offers buyers an alternative electrified powertrain option.
