North Eastern Railway Operates Longest Awadh Mahashakti Freight Train

The North Eastern Railway operated its longest freight train, named Awadh Mahashakti, featuring 129 wagons and three engines. Managed by the Lucknow division, the nearly two-kilometre-long train travelled from Gonda to Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh, covering around 160 kilometres in three hours and 50 minutes at an average speed of 42 kmph. Chief Public Relations Officer Sumit Kumar stated that the operation combined three empty BCN rakes into a single passage to boost cargo carrying capacity. The Gonda-Burhwal-Sitapur section forms part of High-Density Network-4, connecting Delhi with Guwahati.
