Nottingham Forest Needs 'Woodstock and Military' Balance, Says Glasner
· Sports · BBC Sport
Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner stated his struggling Premier League side needs a balance between "flower power" and a "military" approach to improve performance. Forest is currently 19th in the league, winless and goalless at home, following a 2-0 defeat at Brentford. Glasner emphasised that trust and respect are non-negotiable values for his squad, noting that too much "Woodstock" (trust without respect) has hindered high performance. He believes a blend of fun and high performance is crucial for the team's success. Glasner has maintained close communication with the Forest hierarchy, who seek stability after four managers last season.
Why it matters
Glasner's comments signal a shift in management style for Nottingham Forest, aiming to instill greater discipline and performance from players. This approach is critical for the club as it battles relegation in the Premier League and seeks to avoid further managerial changes.
