The Indian stock exchanges, NSE and BSE, will remain open for regular trading on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, despite the observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi. While trading will continue as usual, the day is designated as a settlement holiday, meaning trade settlements will be deferred to Thursday, August 27. The next scheduled trading holiday for the market is Ganesh Chaturthi on September 14. Commodity trading on the MCX will also proceed without interruption on August 26.
Why it matters
Investors can continue trading equities and derivatives as normal, though they should account for the one-day delay in trade settlements.
