NSUI and ABVP Activists Clash at Pune College Over Student Video

Activists from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and the National Students Union of India clashed at the College of Engineering Pune on Friday ahead of a student interaction event featuring Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The confrontation erupted after a video surfaced in which a COEP student claimed she was manipulated by NSUI and Congress activists into complaining about excessive college fees to a news channel. ABVP leaders alleged that about 100 NSUI activists barged into the campus and thrashed students, while Youth Congress representatives accused ABVP members of torturing and pressurizing the female student. Congress party officials stated that one of their activists was injured and hospitalized during the violence. Personnel from the Pune city police intervened to control the situation, and police remained on campus late into the night.
