NTA Removes 600 Experts And Institutes Four-Tier Scrutiny For Exams
· India · Times of India, The Hindu, Indian Express
The National Testing Agency has removed 600 experts from its panels, onboarded new specialists, and introduced a four-level scrutiny process for all question papers in New Delhi. NTA Director General briefed Education Minister Pralhad Joshi on the reforms during a follow-up review meeting on Tuesday. The agency will also induct 25 officials over the next three weeks and relocate its offices with Central Industrial Security Force protection. The overhaul follows the cancellation of the June 2026 UGC-NET papers in English, Commerce, and Sociology due to extensive factual, typographical, and translation defects found by an inquiry committee. Joshi has ordered a comprehensive audit of all examination processes and stricter security protocols for confidential operations.
Why it matters
The sweeping administrative overhaul directly affects millions of students appearing for national entrance and eligibility tests by aiming to eliminate recurring paper leaks, translation errors, and administrative negligence.
