Nvidia Posts Record $96.2 Billion Quarter, Forecasts $110 Billion Next

· Business · Economic Times, CNBC

Nvidia reported record Q2 fiscal 2027 revenue of $96.2 billion, beating Wall Street expectations of around $92.3 billion, with adjusted EPS of $2.22 versus the $2.09 forecast. Its Data Centre business generated about $89 billion in quarterly revenue, up 117% year-on-year, driven by hyperscaler and AI infrastructure spending. The company forecast Q3 revenue of $105.8–110.1 billion, well above consensus, and said demand continues to outpace supply. Nvidia is also working with major financial institutions to mobilise as much as $500 billion in third-party funding for AI infrastructure. The results come amid a debate over "circular financing" — concerns that Nvidia's investments in AI customers effectively help them buy more Nvidia products — a charge CFO Colette Kress rejected, calling the investments strategic.

Why it matters

Nvidia's numbers and outlook directly shape the cost, supply and direction of AI infrastructure that Indian IT services, GCCs, and startups rely on, while the circular-financing debate will influence global investor sentiment toward AI-linked stocks held by Indian mutual funds and retail investors.
