New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani posted a message in Tibetan on X extending solidarity with people from India affected by devastating floods along the Nepal-China border that have killed hundreds. The post came hours after Mamdani addressed the city's Nepalese and Tibetan communities in a separate Nepali-language message, with New York home to an estimated 15,000 Nepalese-origin residents and 13,000 Tibetans. India's Ministry of External Affairs said 290 Indian nationals remain uncontactable in the wake of the floods, while 63 workers from the Trishuli-I project and 21 Tamil Nadu pilgrims on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra have been rescued. New Delhi has set up a 24x7 control room to coordinate response efforts.
