A Palasa-Cuttack MEMU train was detained near Khurda Road station in Odisha following a technical snag in its overhead electric equipment that triggered preliminary reports of an engine fire. The incident occurred while Train No. 68445 was entering Platform 6 around 6pm on Thursday evening. Initial reports indicated the engine caught fire between Khurda and Retang stations, causing damage to at least four coaches. Railway officials suspected a short circuit caused the issue, though the exact reason remains unconfirmed.
