OpenAI Brings ChatGPT Dots to Google Messages and iMessage

OpenAI has rolled out a preview feature allowing ChatGPT Pro subscribers in the US to text their personal AI agents, known as Dots, directly through Google Messages on Android and iMessage on iPhone. Users can interact with their Dot via RCS or iMessage without opening the dedicated ChatGPT app. The background agents can proactively send updates, photos, and voice notes while retaining context from previous conversations across different platforms. OpenAI stated that enabling the feature maintains conversation privacy and does not grant the AI access to other text messages. Eligible users can activate the capability by selecting the Texting option within their Dot's profile.
