OpenAI announced features at its Dev Day event that turn ChatGPT into a platform for discovering, launching, and using software directly within the chatbot interface. The chatbot will begin suggesting apps during conversations when it identifies tools that can help users complete their tasks. OpenAI also introduced a plugin architecture supporting extensions and interactive panels, allowing developers to build AI-native versions of their applications. Additionally, a new Sign in with ChatGPT feature lets users bring their AI allowance and identity across third-party applications. The company launched this initiative with 16 partners, including Notion, Vercel, and Cognition's Devin.
