OpenAI introduced new capabilities for its software engineering agent Codex at its Dev Day on Tuesday, including reusable cloud development environments accessible from any device. The update allows developers to run Codex across computers, phones, and the cloud, providing a shared workspace with approved settings and permissions to help tasks start quickly. OpenAI also refreshed the Codex CLI to support voice-directed tasks and introduced a new /agents view to track multiple tasks simultaneously. Additionally, the company rolled out Codex Security Cloud for automated infrastructure scanning and released new API updates, including a Decisions API powered by Luna.
