OpenAI introduces locked chat feature for ChatGPT users
· Technology · TechCrunch, Android Authority
OpenAI announced on Tuesday that users can now lock ChatGPT conversations using a four-digit PIN, Face ID, or Touch ID to keep sensitive chats private when others may access their device. Unlike temporary chats that don't appear in history, locked chats remain accessible anytime in a dedicated "Locked Chats" section. The feature is designed for personal conversations, surprise planning, or when handing devices to friends and family. OpenAI notes the addition adds privacy layers as ChatGPT is increasingly used for personal discussions.
Why it matters
ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users can now keep sensitive or personal conversations private on shared devices, preventing accidental exposure when lending phones to others.
