OpenAI has revoked access for several cybersecurity researchers to its Trusted Access for Cyber (TAC) program, which provides access to advanced AI models with fewer guardrails. The company confirmed the revocations were caused by a technical issue rather than a policy change. Affected researchers reported receiving error messages stating their accounts were ineligible or that their identities could not be verified. OpenAI has instructed those impacted to reapply and complete the verification process to regain access to the Daybreak Blue tier. The issue appears to be limited to researchers residing outside of the US and Europe.
