Opposition Questions Hardeep Puri Over Jeffrey Epstein Photos

Opposition leaders in New Delhi, including representatives from the Congress, TMC, and NCP (SP), have questioned Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri over newly surfaced photographs showing him with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Leaders shared the images to challenge Puri's earlier statement that he met Epstein only three or four times in a professional capacity as part of a delegation. Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate questioned the minister's past claim that he never met Epstein one-on-one. TMC MP Mahua Moitra and NCP (SP) spokesperson Anish Gawande demanded full clarity and disclosure regarding the terms and content of the discussions. Puri previously stated in February that the meetings took place while he was involved with the Independent Commission on Multilateralism, a project set up at the International Peace Institute before he joined the Union Cabinet in 2017. The government has not yet issued a fresh response addressing the newly shared photographs.
