Following a police crackdown on protesters in New Delhi for the second consecutive day, the Opposition INDIA bloc announced plans to march to the Supreme Court on Monday. Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi urged citizens to join the march to submit a memorandum to Chief Justice of India Surya Kant. The memorandum demands a halt to the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Protesters and student groups had gathered near Jantar Mantar and Bangla Sahib Gurudwara before facing police detention.
