Over 10,000 Women Qualify JEE Advanced 2026 in Six-Year High

A total of 10,107 women candidates qualified the JEE Advanced entrance examination in 2026, marking the highest figure in six years according to the Joint Implementation Committee report released by IIT Roorkee. The qualification rate among registered women candidates rose from 21.7 per cent in 2025 to 23.4 per cent this year. The top-performing woman candidate scored 280 marks to secure All India Rank 77. The report noted that 3,814 female-only seats were allotted, alongside 37 female candidates who secured seats through the gender-neutral pool. Meanwhile, qualification rates and numbers declined for general and Other Backward Classes candidates, whereas Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates saw sharp percentage jumps.
